The poll shows that while the Israeli public supports talking with the Palestinians only a majority support Oslo. The public also wants a harder position in the talks and believes that a deal was not reached because the Palestinians thought they could squeeze more out of Israel.] The Peace Index Project is conducted by the Tami Steinmetz Center for Peace Research at Tel Aviv University, headed by Prof. Ephraim Yaar and Dr. Tamar Hermann and executed by Machshov.
