The question still remains, has the U.K. experieced an increase in violent
crime? Would the presence of a sporting/hunting firearm have been a deterent
to the criminal?
A WorldNetDaily release, dated 2 March 2001 references Jack Straw, the U.K.
Home Secretary as admitting that, "The percentage of the population that
suffered contact crime in England and Wales was 3.6 percent compared to 1.9
percent in the United States, with 0.4 percent in Japan."

Didn't know that there are armed U.K. Police patrols. Haven't seen any of
them.
But what about the import of surplus military weapons into the U.K.?
