Dan Rather is trying to be beloved by all and it
just does not work. People will not forgive him
for his sinister attack on the President of the
United States as he waited for him to "break".

There are more important reasons for Dan Rather
not to be forgiven. He was a part of a very
different and darker "sinister attack on a President".
Dan Rather was the only news reporter who actually
saw President John Kennedy's assassination. News
reporters were riding in vehicles in the motorcade,
but they did not see the shooting. Their vehicles had
not turned the corner into Dealey Plaza.
But Dan Rather wasn't in the motorcade. He was
standing on the sidewalk on the north side of Elm
street, just before the famous "triple underpass".
In a CBS Radio live interview, Rather said that
he: "had a clear and unobstructed view, that he was
looking directly at President Kennedy when he was
shot." Rather said he saw the President "thrown
violently forward...almost into the seat in front of
him" by the impact of the bullets.
Rather's eye-witness report supported the Warren
Commission's conclusion that the shots had been
fired from behind the President's limousine;
and from the Texas School Book Depository Building.
Rather's eye-witness report, and his report
on the killing of Lee Harvey Oswald, launched
a meteoric rise in his career.
Shortly after the Kennedy assassination, CBS
promoted Dan Rather from an obscure network
position in Houston, to become the CBS White House
Correspondent. After covering Lyndon Johnson's
White House, Rather went on to be one of the
Program Hosts on CBS "60 Minutes". Then when
Walter Cronkite retired, Rather was given the
top job at CBS as Anchor of the CBS Evening News.
But wait a minute. Dan Rather reported he saw
John Kennedy "thrown violently forward".
That isn't what happened at all.
The Zapruder film of the assassination clearly
shows John Kennedy being thrown violently
BACK AND TO THE LEFT!
This is just the opposite of what Rather reported.
The Zapruder film shows that Dan Rather
LIED TO THE AMERICAN PEOPLE!
Of course the People didn't know it, because they
were not allowed to see the Zapruder film until
several years after the assassination.
Rather wrote a book entitled:
"The Camera Doesn't Blink"
What grim irony in that title.
