I'd be more interested in finding out WHY these people LISTEN to these
supposed voices and do what these supposed voices tell them to do without
questioning it...
If some voice popped into my head saying "Kill this person who's knocking at
your door and chop their body up!", I'd tell that voice "Kill him yourself,
you mutha, if you're so keen on killing!" I definitely wouldn't just pick
up the heaviest nearby object to bludgeon the poor schmuck to death and then
get the breadknife from the kitchen and proceed to hack away at the body...
Everyone concentrates on the question of the voices these people claim to
hear, and never ask the question why these people actually DO what these
voices command...
And why is it these supposed voices always demand these people slaughter an
unsuspecting victim? How come we don't hear of people who have voices in
their heads telling them to go plant wildflowers along highways or plant
vegetables in abandoned city lots; or to paint a masterpiece or compose an
opus; or voices commanding people to go volunteer at their local soup
kitchen? Why do we have so many David Berkowitzs with dogs telling them to
kill and no Jimmy Stewarts with 7-foot invisible pukas instructing them to
help the downtrodden? :-7
