This must mean that even you are finally getting the point that IND in
Nurev Ind Research means INDEPENDENT. After six years it should be obvious
to even the likes of you, that I don't care where the source comes from, if
I deem it to be factual I'll present it.
It doesn't matter to me if the Right Wing Fundamentalists claim that
overpopulation is a false concern. I don't give a shit what they do. But
even a stopped watch is right occasionally.
The people most affected by the profound fear of overpopulation are the
Rich. They are ALWAYS afraid of being outnumbered anyway. They understand
at gut level ( while you simple Libertarians do not,) that they won't be
able to keep their wealth while more and more people go hungry or are
living
in abject poverty.
They know that at some point, when they are desperate enough, the ' people
'
will simply take what they want from whoever has what they need. The Rich
and the middle class. They also know what happened to the rich in the
French
and Russian revolutions, and what ALMOST happened here in the 30's.
For this reason it is the Rich who fund the studies on overpopulation in
the universities they control. They also have the ability to disseminate
this information through teaching, and a constant bombardment through the
media they own and control. Then simple dupes like you go around parroting
the nonsense as if it were an obvious fact when it's OBVIOUS DRIVEL.
The number of humans is an IRRELEVANT NUMBER unless it is tied to the
carrying capacity of the planet.
ANY MORON CAN FIGURE THIS OUT. Even you.
When someone talks about overpopulation, what does that mean? Six billion
humans are more than previous population counts but does that prove that
the Earth is overpopulated? If so, was it also overpopulated when we
reached
three billion, which was TWICE as much as the 150 billion before that?
This is just plain ignorance. The real question is what is the relationship
of human population to the ability of the earth to SUSTAIN that population.
THAT IS THE REAL DETERMINANT FACTOR.
You almost never see it put to the public this way because it requires an
examination of RESOURCES which is something that the rich, the CAPITALIST
Rich don't want people to do for obvious reasons. If Bill Gates OWNS as
much wealth as about 35% of the rest of Americans do, then someone might
dare question the legitimacy of the system that allows for that.
If the upper middle, and middle classes have jobs that produce NOTHING of
life sustaining value, ( sports, law, middlemen, businessmen, actors,
movie producers, administrators, agents, jobbers, brokers and bankers,
etc.,etc.,etc.,etc.)AND they are the ones
who squander REAL resources like energy and capital goods, then it's no
wonder that all these people are afraid of the poor masses.
This is an economic system which squanders resources on the the LEAST
deserving,
and LEAST productive in REAL terms.
There is indeed a shortage of resources for the number of humans. But NOT
because the Earth can't produce it. Only because the economic system
invented
by and for the Rich is being imposed on everyone.
Now that we are bumping up against ecological limits, either Capitalism, or
capitalists, or masses of unsupported people will have to go.
