While a shootdown might not be unethical, passengers rising up to try to
take the plane back makes a more palatable story for John and Jane Q....
I wonder if the decision of those passengers to take the plane back was
prompted more by the fact that they found out, or figured out, that they
would be shot down by our own military....
It doesn't make sense that the plane went down in PA, unless it WAS shot
down, or there was a bomb on board that went off early; I rather doubt
the 'hijacker had a bomb', since none of the other hijackings had a bomb
involved, even a possibly pseudo bomb strapped to the body of one of the
hijackers. On the other 3 planes, the cellphone and AirFone calls from
passengers and flight attendents only reported knives, nothing regarding
a bomb...so the report that one of the Flight 93 passengers reported one
of the hijackers had a bomb strapped to his body is an unexplained
anomoly...why was this flight the only one reporting a potential bomb on
board?
If the passengers indeed succeeded in taking back control of the plane,
one would have expected a person untrained in flying to at least attempt
to keep the plane in the air and on a steady course -- there would have
been no reason for a passenger at the controls to suddenly nosedive...
And it makes no sense for the hijackers to have done so, either...their
whole focus was to successfully fulfill their mission -- nosediving in
some Pennsylvania woods would have been meaningless, especially
considering the strong Islamic prohibitions against suicide (suicide
committed outside of an act of 'jihad')...in other words, dying while
plowing the plane into the Capitol building would have made the hijackers
'blessed' in the eyes of Allah, dying due to nosediving into the ground
some hundreds of miles from their goal would not...
While there was even the proverbial snowball's chance of them succeeding
in their mission, they would have continued in the attempt and NOT have
suddenly decided to nosedive the plane into the ground far from their
goal...
