Out here on the left coast, the people in the city I live in are trying to break away from the Los Angeles Unified School District. There are several very good reasons for this, the prime reason being that not a whole lot of teaching the basics, i.e., reading, writing, and arithmatic, is going on. The second reason is that the school district is top heavy with over paid administrators. The teachers union has said that they will pull the teachers out of the schools effected if the people vote to separate. There is a group of people in the city that think that that may not be so bad, we may get replacement teachers that can teach the basics.
