The United States is under attack. The world is a dangerous place. We must arm ourselves to defend ourselves.
Two months ago, these statements would have been controversial. Now they are self-evident.
But the U.S. has unilaterally disarmed in the past eight years:
· 700,000 fewer military personnel
· eight fewer Army divisions
· 2,000 fewer combat aircraft and 232 strategic bombers
· four fewer aircraft carriers and 121 fewer surface ships
· 700 bases closed worldwide
Our military is down to pre-Pearl Harbor levels.
The solution?
Give to the National Defense Political Action Committee (www.nationaldefensepac.org ). We will use your money to help elect those who are committed to a stronger military. We are non-partisan. We support candidates of either party if they are willing to support our military.
We only support candidates who have actually served America in the armed forces.
Here are some of the candidates we are supporting for the 2002 election cycle:
* Bill Conrad from California's 18th District(Gary Condit's district). Lt. Col. Conrad is a former member of the U.S. Army's Special Forces.
* Bill VanDeWeghe from California's 53rd District who was in the U.S. Army
* Mike Chema from New Hampshire's 1st District who was in the US Army
* Dave Rogers from Rhode Islands 1st District (against Pat Kennedy). Dave was a US Navy Seal.
* Kelly Barlean from Washington State's 2nd CD. Kelly was also in the Air Force and US Army.
