Federal authorities will be much more eager to prosecute Lindh than to
question how he was able to penetrate to the very core of Osama bin Laden's
terrorist network. This eccentric, alienated California teenager fascinated
with radical Islam managed to do what highly skilled intelligence
professionals supposedly could not: Insinuate himself so deeply into al-Qaeda
 - even meeting "The Evil One" himself on one occasion - that he obtained
critical intelligence about the forthcoming attack on America. >>

I just hate to throw water on this wonderful idea, but so far the only
sensible comment on this Walker and his supposed knowledge (fore or after)
came from Senator Graham of Florida on a C-SPAN interview. He said that he
doubted that this buck private (Walker) had much conversation with the five
star general (Osama). One of the highlights of my husband's time in Japan
(about 1949 or 1950) was actually meeting General Douglas MacArthur in a park
where he was walking his dog (from my husband's description, possibly a Lab).
When this thing on Walker started, I turned to him, grinning, and asked: "Oh
and by the way, honey, when you saw MacArthur in the park walking his dog,
did the general discuss his plans and operations with you?" As he recalls
the general returned his salute. He also remembers parading for MacArthur
one time. I think the general said something to the effect of "Good job,
men." The possibility that Walker knew anything about anything is beyond
remote. Prudy
