I completely concur about Bin Laden having seen a BBC interview with
an Abu Sayyaf commander who said that he had met Bin Laden in
Afghanistan but had wanted nothing to do with him as he wasn't a
muslim and knew nothing about religion.
When Bin Laden left Afghanistan after the war against the Soviet
Union, he returned to Saudi Arabia to work for his father's
multinational corporation, hardly the actions of a fanatical Islamic
fundamentalist.
Pure speculation here, but he may have one more mission to carry out.
Having seen rumours (UK press) of an Al Queda sponsored uprising in
Saudi Arabia, it is possible that the forces of goodness sweetness
and light might be called in to put it down, especially if they
happen to be in the vicinity (Iraq).
