To the editor,
October 24, 2002 marks the 57th anniversary of the founding of the
United Nations (UN). It was founded at the end of World War II with the
promise of mankind's "last best hope for peace." Has this been the actual
result?
Since the founding of the UN, there has been the Korean War, the
forced re-union of Pro-western Kantanga with the Pro-Soviet Congo, the
Vietnam War, Bosnia, the 1991 Gulf War and the conflict in Somalia all
under the "authority" of the United Nations. I would add all of these UN
agreements, treaties, that the United States has entered into pose a
terrible threat to the sovereignty of the United States. I don't think
this paints a very pretty picture of the United Nations.
What is the common thread of the above items I have cited? The common
thread is the gradual development of the United Nations as a governing
body over the United States and the rest of the world. This process is
clearly Un-Constitutional since treaties do not Amend the United States
Constitution! Only the amendment process as outlined in the Constitution
and Article V conventions can change the Constitution.
My Recomendation is to get out of the United Nations and get the
United Nations out of the United States by supporting Congressional action
to defund the United Nations and withdraw from all agreements, treaties
and covenants and restore Sovereignty to our Congress, Executive Branch
and our Judiciary.
