Not at all
They want hysteria, but they want carefully directed hysteria. They want you
afraid of the kind of terrorists that have cells and meetings and leaders
and things you can bomb. And a weird foreign name helps. Also oil if
possible. Anything to keep the hatred pointed in the direction Bush wants.
If people start to think a terrorist can be named Smith, work without a
cabal or cell, and not need directives from an evil overlord, the entire
concept of a 'war on terrorism' starts to unravel at the seams.
