I think auto-testing this against something local would be a pain at best,
but perhaps a script could be written that hit a well known URL specifying
various bindings to make sure it worked (or not).
I can say we've tested my tree fairly well, but of course bugs could
remain,
and our test coverage is based on the features we need and not necessarily
all possible combinations of these binding options.

The last message in this thread was in June while cURL was in feature
freeze, so we didn't merge it then. In light of Daniel's recent reminder
to repost issues that haven't got attention, I'm bringing it up again to
ask if we could merge it now.
As discussed, due to the nature of the feature, adding test cases to
test it seems too hard. However, Ben and I have both been using the
feature successfully.
