Yes, that glitch didn't give me a warm fuzzy feeling as it was particularly bad at the KDE login page. You could type you username and password without visual feedback while typing. See the 2nd video I attached to the PR.

It would be great if someone (tm) could find the caching issue the seems to be there.

Not sure of definition of notebook vs laptop - I got a Dell Latitude 7300
when it was the current model in 2020 (so not that long ago!) and use
it daily running NetBSD-current. The only "glitch" you already know about(!):

and it rarely manifests itself, as often there is either cpu load,
or a video running, oh, and I use a USB wifi dongle.
