Mono is part of Mono. From an association perspective 8-)

If you want to use ASP.Net style programming on FLOSS web server, there are a couple of things you can do. Mono comes with its own webserver called (XSP) and there is a mod_mono pkg for apache. Can't run under Tomcat as far as I know. Or write your own (XSP is both a server and a framework/lib for a Server.)

ASP.Net support under Mono is very much farther along than Windows.Forms (rich client.) Other than porting the SQL server stuff, most code should run adequately from an IIS moved to FLOSS server (Linux, *BSD, Mac)

Do not use old style ASP. Unless you get paid boucoup bux. Use the newer ASP.Net or better yet Mono.

So where does Mono fit into this mix? Is Mono then part of Apache, Tomcat, or something else?
