Jon,

Thanks for the praise, but I'm hardly an expert in FC. I am however
willing to help anybody with it. I run FC2 on my laptop and will shortly
be upgrading to FC4 dualbooting with Ubuntu..

At work, we have used RH 7.3-9.0 in the past but are slowly migrating to
Debian Sarge. (2.6 kernel.)

I echo JT's comments about distros and kernel versions. Nothing to add,
except I use apt-get on Fedora and RH to get later versions of the
kernel. (You want to do this or "yum" to keep up-to-date with security
fixes.) The apt and yum repositories for Fedora are compiled for that
version of your distro.

FC4 is the latest stable release. If d/l get it via bittorrent if
possible. If possible get the DVD.

Someone at this Sat's CWE-LUG mtg will probably be able to burn the CDs
or DVD for you ahead of time if you ask on this list. I can probably get
Robert to duplicate my DVD for you Sat if his machine isn't busy doing
other stuff. BYODVD-R
