Yes. What I forgot to mention was that if I boot the machine into Windows XP, I can record just fine using XP's Sound Recorder. I have yet to install Audacity on WinXP. That'll be my next test.
then check the mixer settings. in kmix the red light at the bottom is to select the source to record from. so on the input tab the mic will need to be selected and the volume will need to be raised above 0.
Both are true, I believe. I'll take a screen shot of both Kmix and Audacity and post it on the cwelug website. Would any other screen shots be helpful? Any commands to run?
BTW, how does one take a screen shot of just one window under KDE? This is with Knoppix 4.0.2CD
