A couple of days ago Scott posted this blog entry about GimpShop:

   http://opensource.weblogsinc.com/entry/1234000030067760/

I was curious to know if anyone has tried it? How does it compare
with Photoshop for basic tasks? It's available for Windows, Linux,
and Mac OS X 10.3+.

As Scott mentions "we can now follow Pshop tutorials step for step &
have them work in the GIMP, which is just ducky". It's more than
ducky because a resent search for Photoshop books on Amazon came up
with 1,502 books, whereas GIMP came up with 21. And a lot more
people know Photoshop than GIMP which expands the user pool to ask
questions.
