There's also a more native "port" of the GIMP tools for OS X:

which saves in the GIMP native xcf format. GimpShop requires X11.

Since you ask, out of necessity I have become accustomed to the GIMP  
regardless of its less-than-ideal interface. The scripting features  
available are second-to-none. I can only assume that GimpShop has the  
same flexibility.
