Greetings all:

Over the years, we have tested a number of trace utilities. One that we
like is "Ping Thingy." It is both a "ping" & a "tracert" utility. For
more & a free download, (2.33 MB) follow this link to the
BinaryBliss.com download site:

http://www.binarybliss.com/product.asp?aid=621

Ping Thiny gives you a graphical read out of the tracert path to the
target URL & the time it takes to ping.

The more jumps, the longer the ping, the longer that target page will
take to download.

This utlity has many uses. It is great at identifying slow spots, bumps
in the road if you will.

Among the things we do is to provide Webmaster & domain administrative
services. The primary object here is..... if you have a Web site, you
want it hosted by a primary ISP, one that sits on or near the backbone.

Example: Although we are phyically located in Florida, the domains we
service are hosted in California because down here, the nearest backbone
runs through Atlanta & we use "feeder pipes" to connect. Almost all of
our disruptions come between here & Atlanta, so I would never host a
site physically from Florida.

Stay well, Ray Ford.
