This reminds me of two incidents down here in deepest hampshire, the first
involved a police offcer (IIRC) who had hand loaded some ammo, when stripped
some cases were under charged, others over, he wasn't so lucky, the link
broke and the toggle embedded its self in his fore-head killing him
instantly.....
The second involved a chap teaching his 11 year old girl to shoot, he'd down
loaded some 38's for use in his old smith, several hang fires and very
difficult extraction (hammering the rod on the bench edge to get the empties
out) didn't put him off, the hang-fire that went after indexing the next
chamber did, along with a scorched hand, thankfully he'd stopped cradling
the gun around the front of the cylinder by then as it was spitting hot lead
out sideways through the cylinder gap. She eventually learned to shoot with
a club 22 semi, better shot than him too!
