Hey everyone-I talked to Bill Bass with the NCDOT and he said that the gravel is on NC 58 to fill in cracks until the "hot mix" can be poured on the road. This prolongs the life of the road a few years.  They will sweep the road which he says will make things better, but it will have a gravel top until September or October.
