goldsboro is free. it's the best ride of all. 30-45 folks riding in a
solid group the entire time at 18mph. 65, 55, 45, and 35 mi loops with
15 min break after each loop. we usually have 3-5 riders go each year
and do 65 or 120 mi. tim lucas did all 200 mi last year. it's june 5
at 6:00 am. starts at eastern wayne hs.

some have done the tour de pickle in mt. olive. nice 50 and 75 mi ride.
sat, apr. 24 @ 9:00 am.

scotland neck (100k) is may 15. starts at 8:30. we've been there for
5-6 yrs. very good ride.

So, there's your nice long ride for april, may and june.

MS Bike Tour - 2 days of riding 75 or 100 miles each day
Blood Sweat & Gears - 100 miles in mountains
CF ride - local 100 miles
Whirligig Ride - 62.5 metric century
Scotland Neck - 62.5 metric
Goldsboro - 100 - 300 mile loops

A couple of these you need to raise money for (MS & CF). Others are
registration only. I'm sure there are others. Go to Active.com.

Subject: [COWs] Yearly Rides

Ok, I know I'm sending out a lot of questions these days, but I've
gotten over the "oh it feels to cool to ride sixty miles" phase. So,
I need to set some goals for the year, or I'll get bored. Where do I
go to find about NC rides and races. I think that my primary goal for
the year is to build a solid endurance base, which should probably
take the whole year. So, I guess I want to find some long rides to
work towards.

Kim, way to lay the smack down on those cyclist haters!!

Peace,
Goose
