WILSON – A heard of 14 COWs gathered at OSB at 7:00 am Saturday for a warm sunny ride. To avoid leaving someone out I will forgo the listing of names (begging forgiveness). The group rolled out for a Tour de Zebulon, Nash St, Hornes Church on to Strickland. Two riders needed to get back sooner (Vino was one) so they turned off at 581 while the rest of the herd rolled to 97 and on to the Store in front of Wal-Mart in Zebulon. After a stop to refuel and take a break from the heat and humidity the herd rolled on to Middlesex on old 264 turning onto 231 to Stoney Hill Church, West Hornes, Bloomery, Packhouse and back in on Nash. 50 miles with a 19 average, this herd is getting stronger. The group managed to gather up at spots along the route to keep everyone fairly together. The route was a mix of hills and flat and we managed to get back before things got too hot. Thanks to Chris for some good ideas on route selection.
It was nice to see Kim back on the herd, clearly she has been training. Congrats to The Kaiser, he finished his first 50 miler. Thanks to Jeremy for joining us on the first leg of the ride, it was great ton see you back in the group and hope to see you again. A great ride.
