Dan and I decided to do our own thing today. I have a sprint tri next wkend at
lake royale so instead of driving up there to see the course why not ride. We
headed out from osb at 8am. Took 58, hornes church, lilies, 97, 231, 98, sledge
then into lake royale. 32 miles. We went down to the boat ramp...maybe 3 miles
and let me tell you this place is full of hills. Great place to do hill
training with good pavement. We stop to check out the transition area before
heading out. Our return trip we took sledge, 98, 231 into middlesex where we
took our first rest stop at about mile 67. 5min stop then down old 264 to
airport and home. This route was very hilly and we had a prertty stiff head
wind all the way down 264....no fun at the end with 70+ miles under our belt.
Dan finished with about 78....i was not going to stop until i had 80 so i did a
loop our cavalier.
80 miles at 20.5avg
Home by noon, did not have to drive to and from greenville, a little rain to
keep us cool and extra money in our pocket.:)
Glad you cotton pickers had a fun and safe ride.
