Dan and I decided to do our own thing today. I have a sprint tri next wkend at lake royale so instead of driving up there to see the course why not ride. We headed out from osb at 8am. Took 58, hornes church, lilies, 97, 231, 98, sledge then into lake royale. 32 miles. We went down to the boat ramp...maybe 3 miles and let me tell you this place is full of hills. Great place to do hill training with good pavement. We stop to check out the transition area before heading out. Our return trip we took sledge, 98, 231 into middlesex where we took our first rest stop at about mile 67. 5min stop then down old 264 to airport and home. This route was very hilly and we had a prertty stiff head wind all the way down 264....no fun at the end with 70+ miles under our belt. Dan finished with about 78....i was not going to stop until i had 80 so i did a loop our cavalier.
80 miles at 20.5avg
Home by noon, did not have to drive to and from greenville, a little rain to keep us cool and extra money in our pocket.:)
Glad you cotton pickers had a fun and safe ride.

Bob L and I set out to do a recovery ride 18/19 mph. At the first sag stop Bob decided to bail, legs had not recovered from yesterday, so he did the 30 mile ride. I set out solo hooked up with 5 other riders who wanted to ride 19/21. Stayed with them until 40 mile sag stop, they went on to do the full century. Rode the last 22 miles solo avg 20mph for the last leg. Avg for total ride 19. Steve T, Wally, and Dale did the full century, they got in with some hammers, I saw them at the first two sag stops, they would be leaving as we arrived. Weather was good , cloudy, no rain, route had a good mix of wind directions, only two overpasses, completely flat. Home before 2:00
Great day on the bike
