Lucas again spends his time from middle pack to the back. I am worthy of a no
pull ride because I'm the only one cruising a steel bike with fenders. Tons of
wind on the second loop. With 30 riders still going, the pack yo yo's really
bad and you're doing 20 then braking. Over and over again. The wind is making
it harder than I wanted. Bob gives it another strong pull and seems to be
having an easy go of it, but decides this is his last loop. John o. decides
that 2 training rides in the last 4 months is not enough to keep this up and
slides back to the second group, meaning this is his last loop as well. I have
775 miles waiting for me next weekend so I decide I'm working too hard in my
tapering efforts to continue any further so I let this be my final loop as
well. Bob, John and I end up with 120 miles. My average speed was 17.7 mph.
It was a nice social 2 pace line event throughout the entire ride. A beautiful
day to spend riding a bike. I regret not still being out there but recovery
drinks are helping me to overcome those feelings! Cheers!
