Does this, or will this include the generic/readme patch I submitted along
time ago (which you did review since you commented about the original use of
sed -i being a potential problem for cygwin)?

I don't have "a month worth of developers time". :-)

I do plan to try to at least get my patches (which I already understand)
into the generic-build-script at some point in the near future.  Time
permitting, others may follow.
