I just checked this into SVN, hopefully merging everything correctly and adding a couple minor patches of my own; system.XWinrc moved to /etc/X11 and XWin.log to /var/log. Could you please svn up and test 1.5.3-2? > By the miracle of interdiff, this includes an updated > from-xming-patch11-wm-fixes.patch, since Colin has a much better way of doing > the size/shape adjustment based on styles, which should be smoother, avoiding > the window being drawn with decoration and then removing it, and perhaps > avoids the problem you are seeing. The appearing-disappearing problem is gone, but the xine menu still disappears unless I run gnome-settings-daemon. Given that xine seems to have it's own quirks, this is a big improvement. > There is a new patch, cygwin-window-placement.patch, which contains a change > which should ensure that windows created close to 0x0 get nudged a bit so > their decoration is visible (if they are decorated), as seen with xine. Tested with xine and xvkbd's About dialog; looks good. > I've also moved the build modifications for the new about dialog into the > patch that adds it. Makes sense. > Forgot one. Everything else which should have > an icon seems to work, though. Qt4 program icons display correctly with this patch, and designer-qt4 WFM. Thanks! One more thing I did notice: running "Reload .XWinrc" causes existing windows to have their icons change to the default X icon. This only affects the icon in the window decoration; the icon in the Windows taskbar remains. I would like to move X11 development to cygwin-xfree now, so let's start a new thread there for follow-up.
