Because I am already contributing to too many projects, and my dispersion harms my productivity. My fingers are twitching to have a go at this, but other people are waiting for some new features on codebases I know, and have thought a lot about, and on which I can easily be productive and help the community. I can understand that it would help you guys if I would pitch in, but I am already trying to contribute to mayavi2, ipython and pyreport, in addition to my day work, and there is only so much that I can do.
