dear friends After a while I decided to ask for your help: My greatgrandfather was born "around" Czernovitz in 1896. I have his American passport with this information and also some papers when he applied for American citizenship. I was also able to find in JRI Poland and lots of other fonts, infos about his parents and some of his 11 siblings. Unfortunately there isn't any info about him before entering USA coming from CUBA in 1921. I contacted the State Archive of Chernivitsy Region (UKRAIN) and there isn't any information about him. Some of his siblings were born in Shtelts around Czernovitz, so I am not sure if I should look for in Moldavian, Ukranian, Romanian, Austria ou Polish records because the borders changed in that period. I Know that his family lived for a while in Tluste and Douglas Hykle did a wonderful research available in http://www.tovste.info/index.php I would love to find his birth record and will appreciate your help...
