Many thanks Irene Indeed it is nostalgically taking me back to the old Czernowitz and its surrounds, which I’ve thankfully visited. I only wish the quotes from the poetry and songs of Velvel Zbarzher and others were also included in their original Yiddish even if only transliterated. This rich language, as we all know, cannot be effectively translated and still keep its richness and its soul. In any case many thanks for bringing this special publication to our attention- has made for interesting reading for my summer holiday here “ down- under”. I take this opportunity to wish all on this Cz list a Happy and Healthy New Year 2022, and let’s hope we’ll soon get some respite from the pandemic and that life and travels will return to normality.
