Dear Edgar and Cornell, I wonder if you might help me with a family mystery:
A relative of mine was married for a time to the daughter of the chief rabbi of Czernowitz. This was in the 1930’s. The couple went to Palestine but then got divorced. The woman returned to Czernowitz and the man joined the Russian army during WWII. How might I find a list of the chief rabbis of Czernowitz during the period 1920-1940? I’d appreciate any suggestions you could provide.
