Friends I just want to recommend "Borderlines: A History of Europe in 29 Borders" a wonderful new book by the British journalist and historian Lewis Baston.
https://amzn.eu/d/cxOFy4V It's a discussion of European borders and the conflicts and histories of a collection of border areas: how they've moved backwards and forwards over time and the impact of these changes on the communities that live in these regions. It's totally fascinating in is own right but the final chapter 18 is an unashamed love letter to Czernowitz which Baston says is his favourite European border city . I'm sure that you will all enjoy it Alan ******************************************************************************* This moderated discussion group is for information exchange on the subject of Czernowitz and Sadagora Jewish History and Genealogy.
