I'm not sure what is happening with ubuntu 9.04. I just thought this might help. I noticed several things that caught me by surprise when trying to get Dabo to work. For example I installed python 2.5 after installing wxPython - but it stilled worked with 2.5 without me doing anything. I'm guessing but it looks like wxPython was installed for all the available pythons (including 2.4?).
