A mild disclaimer: I may be the only person that's ever used modal dForms, but I've had them in use in my commercial app for around 3 years now with no apparent trouble. There have been times when a weird edge-case would happen causing me to blame the underlying modal hocus-pocus but as far as I know all of these ended up being caused by other factors.
