A Reflection on Today's Scripture:

I have heard today's First Reading from the Book of Isaiah read at
funeral masses. Its comforting words remind us that there will come a
day when God will wipe away all our tears and will destroy death
forever.

The magnitude of that prophecy is particularly striking when
announced before a draped casket and the tear stained faces of
sorrowful mourners. To those who are graced to believe, they are more
than just comforting words; they are the pledge of a faithful God.

Let us take some time during these beginning days of this beautiful
Advent season to meditate on the extent of the Lord's faithfulness,
the depth of His love. In doing so, may we be moved with greater
fidelity, greater desire to be more worthy of such Love.

Through the intercession of the Virgin Mary - Mother of the Word
Incarnate - may we prepare the way of the Lord.

Come, Lord Jesus!
