Background: The Parental Notification Constitutional Amendment (ACR-2/SCR-86) was introduced earlier this year in response to the NJ Supreme Court decision invalidating the recently enacted parental notification law. The Constitutional Amendment would allow the Legislature to enact a parental notification law that will require that a doctor notify a parent before a minor undergoes an abortion. If adopted by the people, the amendment will be added to the NJ Constitution and should prevent the court from striking down any future parental notification law enacted by the Legislature. It is imperative that as many people as possible attend and show support for this amendment.
