I still have to support old-fashioned-format repositories. I don't mind if a future version of darcs adds warnings or requires "i-know- what-im-doing" type override switches, but please let the next version of darcs still have the full ability to use old-fashioned- format repositories.

By the way, it appears that the jump from old-fashioned-and-or-hashed- format to darcs-2-format is too big of a jump for us. Switching from older formats to darcs-2-format requires a "flag day" in which every user that I care about has to commit all their outstanding patches to a central old-format repository then agree to never use old-format again and start using darcs-2-format exclusively. This is theoretically possible, but it hasn't happened yet, and I kind of suspect that we'll switch to some future darcs-3-format or camp (or to git) before we get around to switching to darcs-2-format.

Regards,

Zooko
