Unfortunately, darcs-benchmark has the annoying habit of combining 
previous runs with your current runs.  That means that all the 
benchmarks on that page are suspect :(  Given that the runs were taking

I had assumed that by moving my benchmarking to a new directory and 
using a ram disk that I would get clean numbers for the ramdisk part.  I 
just happened to run 'darcs-benchmark report' in a new clean ramdisk and 
discovered it had all my previous times in there :(  Eventually I found 
that darcs-benchmark stores things in ~/.darcs-benchmark.  I've removed 
this directory and I'm trying the ramdisk run again on an optimized 
version of my patches.  Less unpacking, fewer trys.

I'll report these new _clean_ timings later.
