Hello. No, those modules were inactive.
I've updated sources from git and recompiled darktable in the morning. The problem has gone. It wasn't a clean experiment due to system updates which had been applied just before.

Do you have crop&rotate or vignette or graduated density as the active module?
Those intercept the mouse movement for module control. Maybe it's just that?
