i second the 'getting old' bit. and i really like IRC. i could never get the hang of these fancy websites that force you to use a mouse. for slack at least there used to be an IRC bridge. it seems mattermost may be an alternative that does support IRC, for those of us who insist on animated gifs for team comm.
