I find it strange why is it done this way. Mix is to make the effect stronger or weaker. If I compare to a different module (for example color zones) - it is also based on curves and have mix but the mix does not reset to 1.0 as equalizer does. The challenge that I have is - when I re use the presets and decide to change the setting after preset is applied there is little to guide me in numerical values. Say - I have a preset that is with mix at 0.500 and on another image I would like to change it to 0.600 - either I have to start from default preset setting (that is 1.000 and no mix applied) and go back to 0.600 or I have to guess.

Is it only me that is confused or are there benefits to be done this way that I am missing?

B

When you exit the module settings editor, it will adjust the curves based on the 'mix' value and reset it to 1.0, so the effect is equivalent.

I am not entirely sure how Equalizer presets should work. I
applied clarity and set mix at 0.500 and then save it as a preset
"test". Next time - when I apply the preset "test" - it looks as
what I did as a correction (the correction applied to the image is
correct) - however - the mix shows again 1.000. (see attached). I
think the most visible - blue is the edges area.

Just curious... In some videos I've watched there used to
            be both
Clarity and Clarity (Subtle) presets in the Equalizer. In
            2.0.5 we
only have a Clarity preset. Was subtle dropped because one can
produce this same affect by adjusting the mix slider?

             atrous: cleanup presets
most of these presets represent subtler or stronger
        versions, that
can be achieved by mixing to 0.5 or 2.0
naming was slightly adjusted to get better
