Jack, I don't know if it's the correct/usual work flow, but I never sharpen in DT, because I don't know yet the destination of the image. So I save the image full size without sharpening. If am scaling the image for the web, or using all/some pixels in a large/small print, it will need a different sharpening. Later, I will use Gimp to finish the image.
