Hi Jean-Luc,

The default themes are at "/opt/darktable/share/darktable/themes" on my
install from Git.

I would recommend copying them to
"/home/user_name/.config/darktable/themes" and modifying them there.

This will possibly result in them being listed twice in the 'preferences
- theme chooser' best give them a new name.

As to documentation - the .css files are annotated but some
experimentation will be needed!

As promised a quick review of my first thoughts on 3.0.0rc0 GUI.

Much clearer and leaner, the module options (fusion, masks etc...) are
more compact. The slider cursor and sliders are much improved and
easier to grab. Nice move.

If I may suggest a couple of improvements on the GUI, I think that
precious screen space can be reclaimed from the top part with the main
"lighttable | darkroom | other" menu. Its size and margin/padding
could be reduced to leave more space for the modules and picture.

The module quick search window is great, but I would put it in the
"more modules" section where we usually search for new modules so that
more space is left to the modules.

Where can I find documentation and css selectors used in 3.0.0? Is the
general layout hard coded or can it be tweaked in a user defined css
file?

Nice work.

Cheers.

Bonsoir Pascal,

Just compiled it and no issue whatsoever with the aforementioned bug
3249.

I use Debian Duster with OpenCL and a Nvidia GTX 970 with Nvidia
driver 430.40 and I did the test w/ and w/o OpenCL and w/ and w/o
denoise profiled.

I have a couple of remarks/questions concerning the GUI and modules
that I will post after I will have tested 3.0 more thoroughly. Looks
promising anyway.

Cheers.

The darktable 3.0.0rc0 release is out.

The full description and release notes can be found here:

This is by far one of the best release ever. I understand that I have
already said that for 2.6. But the list of enhancements in this release
is just amazing! Lot of work as been done in almost all part of
darktable.

This is the first pre-release, test it and please be sure to report
issues you found.

There is one point to really check, we do suspect there is something
wrong with the denoise profiled module. See:

https://github.com/darktable-org/darktable/issues/3249

Fact is that many people are not reproducing this issue. What could
help if you have the issue is to list the hardware (CPU & GPU, the
memory and OpenCL driver) in used. We may find a pattern.

Thanks all!
