First off, Merry Christmas to all, and thanks aplenty to the developers
of darktable for yet another release.
Now to a point of confusion for me. I have two basically identical Win
10 machines on which darktable is installed. In checking my
configurations after loading v3.8 this morning I find that both machines
are set to scene-referred (preferences - processing). All other options
are identical on both machines. Yet when I open a photo in darkroom on
the "B" machine, the module order precisely follows the scene-referred
module order specified in Section 12.7 on p. 282 of The Fine Manual as
follows:
watermark
framing
monochrome
lowlight vision
velvia
color correction
shadows and highlights
contrast brightness saturation
color balance rgb
sharpen
astrophoto denoise
censorize
crop
exposure
retouch
rotate and perspective
haze removal
lens correction
denoise (profiled)
white balance
On the "A" machine, the modules selected are the same, yet the order is
mostly different as follows:
watermark
framing
velvia
sharpen
color correction
contrast brightness saturation
monochrome
lowlight vision
shadows and highlights
astrophoto denoise
color balance rgb
censorize
haze removal
crop
rotate and perspective
lens correction
retouch
exposure
denoise (profiled)
white balance
Those modules in red are NOT in the sequence specified in Section 12.7
on p. 282 of The Fine Manual, and as yet, I've not found a means of
correcting the module order to be in sync with the specified order in
The Fine Manual. Can anyone point me in the right direction to correct
the module order on the "A" machine? We certainly do not wish to upset
the module order gods on Christmas Eve. Thanks for any insights.
Willy Williams
