Darktable has this, it is called spots.

I'm about to move from Lightroom.

I've been working on a Lightroom to Darktable import module as I'm in
the same situation as you. This can't be generic as most tools have
different rendering so every change in a tool must be "calibrated" to
map in the other tool. Currently I have most of the Lightroom
development data moved to Darktable.

Back to your request. I've done that by reading the Lr .xmp sidecar. Is
Aperture producing such files? Is the data there easily readable?

If so, look at lightroom.c in Git master to see how this is done.
