I suppose I want to turn darktable inot gimp, which it isn't. But there are
some things I do regularly in gimp which I can't seem to do in darktable.

For example, I have an image part of which is overexposed and I would like
to tone that part down. In gimp I would select it and then do what I
wanted to it. But i don't see how to make a selection in darktable.

Any clues?
