My guess is the history reflects what you have done: for exemple first time
A to B, then B to C the second time. But anyway, all treatments will be
applied by Darktable with its own logic, as if you've had compressed the
history.

They are not definitely applied in the history sequence: re-read the manual
on that point, it's a very important feature, you have no say about the
order modules are applied.

No! You don't go to the history stack, but to the right panel and simply
deactivate this module; in fact, it will add a new line in the history
stack that say 'raw denoise (deactivate)'.
