Short answer: It's still useful. Calibration done on a cameras with larger sensors can be used on cameras with smaller sensors but not vice versa. So ideally we'd love to have calibration done on full frame for all lenses. But if all you have is a crop camera, that info is still useful to others with the same or smaller sensor, so it's useful to have that information in the database regardless. The database format can contain multiple entries for different sensor sizes as well.
